Ackroyd & Harvey in conversation with Rachel Spence’, art critic with the Financial Times
Ackroyd & Harvey recently withdrew Living Skin from a touring exhibition after questioning the political actions of the sponsor. Here at Display Gallery they have reconfigured the work as Pelt (after Living Skin).
In conversation with Rachel Spence, art critic and writer with the Financial Times, the artists publicly discuss the uncomfortable and unexpected issues the experience raised. The question is asked whether the avant-garde has any cut today, or is at risk of being a malleable and effective tool for political sanitisation.
