MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE
Bell’s. In support of Help For Heroes
Chamber uses the central idea of a message in a Bottle as a starting point to communicate the stories of wounded servicemen and women, honouring their bravery.
Hundreds of bottles pare positioned alongside each other in a circular formation, conveying the unity and solidarity of members of the armed forces, and the unfailing support of their families and loved ones.
As well as a warm glow emanating from the installation, a generative sound piece fills the room, recounting their journey, from injury through recovery. Although the details of each individual story vary, they all demonstrate strength, courage and triumph over adversity.
Chamber was created by Sebastian Kite in collaboration with visual arts studio Jotta. Kite’s site-specific works sit at the intersection of art, architecture and the body. His installations are designed experiences of space through sound, structure and using light as material.
